Reproductive Futures
Meets the Moment

Since the overturn of Roe v. Wade, access to reproductive health care has been increasingly unpredictable and inequitable. Telemedicine abortion has been a bright spot in expanding abortion care throughout the United States. At the same time, legal uncertainty and fear continue to dramatically limit access to all reproductive health care, including life-saving emergency room and post abortion care. Without a coordinated legal response, all access is at risk.

Reproductive Futures is the legal frontline for advancing access to reproductive health care as a human right. Our team of legal experts creates and defends laws and policies that increase access to telemedicine, emergency room, and post-abortion care nationwide.

We use the law as a tool to increase direct access to care and to support providers in delivering the highest-quality treatment to all patients:

We expand telemedicine abortion access by working with allies to design and implement telemedicine abortion laws in an increasing number of states as the foundation for building a new model of service delivery.

We support medical providers by clarifying what post-abortion and emergency room care is legally permissible in restrictive environments, ensuring life-saving care can be provided without fear of criminalization.  

We investigate where legal action can be effective to safeguard and expand telemedicine access and protect providers nationwide.
